Welcome to Cassora. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree these Terms of Service (the “Terms”).

1. Who we are

Cassora is a software platform that helps local governments and related organisations manage, publish, and report their climate and emissions data.

2. Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to everyone who uses Cassora, including:

  • Owners – senior users within a local government organisation.
  • Contributors – people entering or editing data on behalf of an organisation.
  • Reviewers – users with read-only access.
  • Oversight users – users who have visibility across multiple organisations (for example, regional coordinators, partner organisations, or funding bodies).
  • Administrators – platform support staff who manage user accounts and technical operations (Platform Administrators and Super Administrators).

3. Acceptance of Terms

  • All users must accept these Terms of Service before accessing Cassora.
  • When an Owner accepts these Terms, they are accepting on behalf of their organisation.
  • The Primary Owner is responsible for billing and is the official contact for the organisation.
  • If we update these Terms, we’ll let you know. Continued use of Cassora means you accept the new Terms.

4. Roles and responsibilities

  • Owners can manage data, users, settings, billing, and publishing.
  • Primary Owner is responsible for billing and official sign-off of published reports.
  • Contributors can edit and enter data but cannot publish.
  • Reviewers can view data and reports but cannot edit.
  • Oversight users may view data across multiple organisations, as defined in Cassora’s permissions policy.
  • Platform Administrators manage user accounts and organisational access.
  • Super Administrators manage the technical environment and platform performance.

5. Data ownership and use

  • Each organisation owns the data it enters into Cassora.
  • Cassora does not claim ownership of organisational data. Ownership remains with the organisation at all times.
  • Cassora will keep organisation-level data confidential and share it only with authorised users (such as Oversight users or Reviewers) in accordance with the role permissions.
  • Cassora may use aggregated or anonymised data for benchmarking, research, or reporting, without identifying individual organisations.

6. NDAs and external users

  • If an organisation wishes to invite an external Contributor or Reviewer (for example, a consultant using a non-government email domain), the invitation must be approved by 100% Renewables, and the external user must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
  • Accounts for external users will only be activated once NDA approval is confirmed.

7. Security

  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is required for all users.
  • Users must keep their login credentials secure and not share them.
  • Cassora is not responsible for unauthorised access caused by users failing to protect their credentials.
  • Security incidents: If Cassora becomes aware of unauthorised access to personal information or organisational data, we will assess and, where required by law, notify affected parties without undue delay and cooperate on reasonable remediation steps.

8. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Attempt to bypass security or access other organisations’ data.
  • Introduce malware or conduct load/penetration attacks without written permission.
  • Use Cassora to store unlawful content.
  • Share your credentials.

8. Publishing and accountability

  • Only Owners can publish data.
  • Once published, reports are considered official submissions from the local government.
  • Cassora records an audit trail of who entered and published data, but does not verify its accuracy.

9. Billing and payments

  • The Primary Owner is responsible for subscription fees and payment details.
  • Payment terms and renewal conditions will be set out in your subscription plan.
  • Cassora may suspend access if payments are not made.

10. Limitations of liability

  • Cassora is provided “as is.”
  • We do not guarantee that the platform will always be available or error-free.
  • We are not responsible for:
    • The accuracy of data entered by users.
    • Decisions made based on reports generated in Cassora.
    • Service interruptions beyond our reasonable control.
  • We will use reasonable efforts to maintain service availability, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cassora is not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

11. Termination and suspension

  • Cassora may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are breached.
  • Organisations may terminate their subscription by giving notice (see your plan for details).
  • On termination, organisations may export their data within 30 days. After this period, data may be archived or deleted in accordance with our retention policy, except where retention is required by law.
